The location is just meters away from the train station and infront of a local grocery store. the caretaker Murjin is very helpful and the accommodation is very well looked after. The bed isnt that great but other than that everything else is great value for money. Ideal for visiting Venice.

Here’s the thing, once you get into the hotel it’s great. But before then it’s stressful and a mess. I noted on my online booking that I would check in between 7 and 8PM, this was dependent on my flight, and whether or not it would be delayed or not. It was. I was lucky that I arrived just before my “cutoff” window. But to my surprise, there was no one around. The people who were around in the streets made me feel as if I would be mugged, and as it got later and darker, I got more nervous. I received confirmation from Booking.com and the owners of the residence back at the beginning of May that my check in time would be sufficient. However, they noticed that I was also expected to to check in with the hotel 20 minutes before I arrived to tell them I was almost there… for a hotel to not realize that travellers often do not have a travel data pass, or the ability to make phone calls is astonishing. The lack of professionalism (yes I do realize it is a hostel), lack of communication, and lack of clarity of what you’re walking into is astonishing. Once you’re in the room and the residence it is in fact quite nice. The beds are made up very nicely, the rooms are put together they near and clean, and fairly soundproof. But as others have mentioned, the headache of actually getting into the residence is not worth it in my opinion.

Please please please do not risk staying here. Espically if you are a female or with children.

Unless you have 24/7 direct access to the internet please do not stay here. There is no way to check in without it and the wifi at Venice Airport is not reliable.

We booked this accomodation for our arrival in Mestre which was a late evening flight. Our flight was delayed so we arrived about 1 hour late and didn't get to the hotel until 12.05pm. The hotel did email us at 10pm and 11pm, however, being on a plane at the time we were unable to access emails to see these or reply and there was no wifi availabe when we landed. As such the person sent to check us in (as there is not an actual hotel entrance or accessible check in desk at the property) left. The airport taxi dropped us at midnight infront of a random building number on a dark and dodgy street. There were several men riding around on bikes that kept lapping back in forth infront of us and following us around. I honestly felt I was going to be mugged. The accomodation had no sign, no lights, no name on any of the buzzers of the address, overflowing post and no check in desk or entrance. We were left completely abandoned.

When we found wifi at a near by open hotel we found that our booking was cancelled with no comments but full payment was taken. The hotel state they waiting for us until midnight but they then immediately took the opportunity to abandon thier guests to sleep on the street as we arrived so shortly after midnight to no one.

No common sense prevailed. They did not check to see if flights were being delayed that night. They did not consider than travellers may not have constant access to the internet. This is not a proper hotel. Please please for safely pick to stay in one of the many other hotels around the station that do have an actual entrance and check in desk and full time staff.

This accomodstion may be fine if all goes to plan on your trip, but it is not worth the risk in case of unforseen circumstances which could happen for so many reasons (car breakdowns, delayed flights, trains etc, accidents etc). Italy is not a country that had wifi in every bar or station. And if you are arriving in the country you will not have a local sim.

Please do not expect to be able to contact accomodations or them to wait for you and instead book with an actual hotel with a check in desk. It is not worth the risk.
